Return & Refund Policy
Type Forward sells digital font software delivered instantly after purchase. This Return & Refund Policy explains our voluntary commercial refund guarantee, how to request a refund, and the limited exceptions that may apply after the guarantee window.
By completing checkout, you consent to immediate digital delivery and agree to our Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (EULA). As described at checkout, you waive your statutory 14-day EU right of withdrawal in favor of our voluntary 14-day commercial refund guarantee for standard shop orders.
Refunds are reviewed and processed manually by our team. There is no self-service refund button in your account.
Commercial Guarantee
We stand by the quality of our fonts. For standard shop orders, we offer a voluntary 14-day commercial refund guarantee.
Eligibility window: You may request a full refund within 14 days, counted from your order’s completion date when recorded, otherwise from the payment date, otherwise from the order date. This matches how our order system calculates eligibility.
When we can process a refund: For standard shop orders, we process refunds once the order is marked completed in our system (after payment and delivery setup). If you email us earlier, we will respond when the order is ready to refund.
Eligibility conditions: Refunds under this guarantee are intended for purchases where the font software has not been used in any live, published, or commercial project. We may ask you to confirm this during review.
Full refunds only: We only process full refunds. Partial refunds are not supported.
After an approved full refund:
- License revocation: Your EULA for the refunded order is immediately terminated. You must delete all copies of the font files from your devices and storage.
- Download access blocked: You will lose access to download the font files package from your account Vault (the ZIP download, which includes the License PDF).
- Tax records retained: Your original Invoice, Receipt, any Credit Note, and (for card purchases that had a fiscal receipt) any Storno receipt remain accessible in your account for your accounting records.
- Card payments: Approved refunds for card payments are returned through the original payment method where our payment provider allows. Timing depends on your bank or card issuer.
- Bank transfer (wire) orders: Approved refunds are returned to your bank account separately after we process the refund in our system.
How to request: Email hello@typeforward.com with your order number. Our team will review your request and, if approved, process the refund through our internal order system. We do not send automated refund confirmation emails; we confirm with you manually when applicable.
Exceptions
After the 14-day commercial guarantee has expired, refunds are generally not available. We may still consider a refund, replacement, or adjustment only in the strictly defined circumstances below:
- Defective files: The font software is corrupted or does not perform substantially as described, and our technical support team cannot provide a fix or replacement within a reasonable timeframe (as outlined in our EULA warranty).
- EU VAT verification downtime: The EU VAT verification system (VIES) was temporarily unavailable during checkout and VAT was charged by default. Contact us with your valid VAT number. We will arrange manual VAT correction through our accounting process, which may require corrective fiscal documents and, in some cases, a new purchase at the correct VAT treatment — not an instant partial VAT refund at checkout.
Wrong License or Duplicate Purchase
If you purchased the wrong license tier, selected the wrong product, or accidentally bought the same license twice, contact us at hello@typeforward.com with your order number before the guarantee window expires. Depending on the situation, we may offer an upgrade quote, a manual adjustment, or a full refund under the commercial guarantee. This is handled case by case through support — not as an automatic checkout option.
If you need a larger license scope (for example, more desktop users or additional web usage), see License Upgrades below — that path is not a refund.
License Upgrades
If you realize you need a larger license (for example, upgrading from 5 to 20 desktop users, or adding web usage), this is not a refund. Contact us at hello@typeforward.com, and we will issue a custom quote or discount so you pay only the difference for the upgrade.
How to Request Support
If you experience an issue with your font files, contact us at hello@typeforward.com before opening a dispute with your payment provider. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.
Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us first constitutes a breach of your purchase agreement. This may result in account suspension, dispute evidence submission regarding digital delivery, and permanent revocation of associated font licenses.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this refund policy when our services or the law change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last update” date shown in the sidebar.
