Return & Refund Policy

This promise applies to personal and business customers whose order uses the standard Type Forward EULA, whether they buy through our online checkout or receive an order created for them. Custom or negotiated orders follow the refund terms accepted for that order. Free or zero-money orders on the standard EULA use the same return process, but there is no payment to refund.

Email hello@typeforward.com and include your order number. Please request within the deadline below. We’ll reply by email and guide you through the next steps.

For a paid order, the return period starts when payment is confirmed and your files or access are ready. For a free order, it starts when the order is accepted and your files or access are ready. An earlier unpaid invoice date does not start the period. Your request must reach us by the end of the day (23:59 Europe/Sofia) on the calendar date 14 days after that start date.

You may download, install, and privately evaluate the fonts.

If any font in the order was used in published, distributed, final-delivered, client, or commercial work, this voluntary promise does not apply to that order.

When you request a refund under this promise, you confirm that the fonts were only privately evaluated and were not used in published, distributed, final-delivered, client, or commercial work.

Where the promise applies, the remedy is a full-order return / refund — not a partial refund and not a licence-scope downgrade. If you meet these criteria, you are entitled to the refund under this promise. We may check eligibility and refuse only when the criteria are not met or there is substantiated fraud or abuse.

We refund to your original payment method where supported. Bank-transfer refunds may be processed manually. Timing depends on your payment provider or bank. Free returns have no money movement; for free orders the monetary refund is zero, but licence and access outcomes still apply.

Your licence ends. Further customer downloads of the font package are blocked. You must delete all copies. We keep order, tax, and related records when the law requires us to. We may keep a copy of the licence document in our records — that is not continued download access for you.

Custom or negotiated orders: Orders under an accepted custom licence or service agreement are governed by that agreement’s refund terms (accepted for that order). They are not automatically inside or outside this standard promise.

Free orders: Free or zero-money orders on standard terms follow this same return process. There is no money to refund; licence termination, access revocation, and deletion duties still apply.

Wrong licence or duplicate purchase: If you purchased the wrong licence tier or product, or accidentally bought the same licence twice, contact us at hello@typeforward.com with your order number. An unused order that meets the Type Forward Return Promise criteria follows the same full-order return process described above.

Licence upgrades: If you need a larger licence scope (for example, more desktop users or additional web usage), that is not a refund. Contact us at hello@typeforward.com, and we will issue a custom quote or discount so you pay only the difference for the upgrade.

Separate from the voluntary return promise, these cases remain available:

• Defective files: The font software is corrupted or does not perform substantially as described, and our technical support team cannot provide a fix or replacement within a reasonable timeframe (as outlined in our EULA warranty).
• EU VAT verification downtime: This applies only where EU member-state VAT rules applied at checkout; it does not apply to purchases billed to the United Kingdom, including customers in Northern Ireland who select United Kingdom. If VIES was unavailable during checkout and VAT was charged by default, contact us with your valid VAT number. If VIES confirms your company is valid, we refund the original order and create a new corrected order with the proper VAT treatment and updated tax documents. This is separate from the voluntary 14-day Return Promise and is not a VAT-only partial refund.

Your mandatory rights for defective or non-conforming digital content remain separate and unaffected by this commercial promise.

If you are a consumer and the EU statutory right of withdrawal applies to you: by requesting immediate access to non-tangible digital content, and once delivery begins, you may lose that statutory withdrawal right, where the legal conditions for that exception are met. Our 14-day voluntary refund promise above is separate and may still apply when its own criteria are met.

If you experience an issue with your font files, contact us before opening a dispute with your payment provider. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly. Chargebacks and payment disputes are addressed in our Terms of Use (Chargebacks & Payment Disputes).

We may update this refund policy when our services or the law change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date shown in the sidebar.
