Please take a moment to read these Terms of Use. 1. Using Our Website
You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:
- break the law
- infringe others’ rights
- upload malicious code
- attempt to gain unauthorized access
- interfere with or disrupt the site.
2. Accounts & Purchasing
- Mandatory Accounts: To purchase font licences and download files, you must create a user account. We do not offer guest checkout. This ensures you always have secure access to your font files, licence documents, and free updates.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and any connected Google account. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities and purchases that occur under your account.
- Sign-in methods: Email-and-password sign-in remains available. You may use Google sign-in to create, connect, or sign in to the same Type Forward account; it does not create a separate account for orders or licences. You may disconnect Google in Account Settings after confirming your Type Forward password. If you created the account with Google or do not know that password, use the normal password-recovery process first. Disconnecting stops Google sign-in but keeps your Type Forward account, purchases, licences, documents, and downloads. Removing Type Forward from your Google Account’s third-party connections may stop future Google authorization, but it does not delete your Type Forward account or its records; use Type Forward Account Settings when you want the local Google connection removed.
- Age Requirement: This site and its services are intended for users aged 18 and older.
- Electronic Invoices & Receipts: By completing a purchase, you consent to receive any invoices and/or fiscal receipts issued for that order electronically by email and/or in My Account. Which documents you receive depends on the order and payment type.
- EU VAT (VIES): For business customers in EU member states, 0% VAT (reverse charge) applies only when your VAT number is successfully validated via the EU VIES system at checkout. This EU VIES process does not apply when your billing country is the United Kingdom (see United Kingdom & Northern Ireland below). If VIES is temporarily unavailable, checkout will not be blocked; standard VAT may be charged by default. Contact us at hello@typeforward.com with your valid VAT number. If VIES confirms your company is valid, we refund the original order and create a new corrected order with the proper VAT treatment and updated tax documents. This is not an automated checkout adjustment and is not a VAT-only partial refund. See our Refund Policy for related details.
- United Kingdom & Northern Ireland: Sales billed to the United Kingdom are treated as non-EU for checkout VAT (normally 0% in this shop). If you are in Northern Ireland, please select United Kingdom as your billing country. Business customers may enter their company details and a VAT number with the XI prefix, where applicable. We do not verify United Kingdom or XI-prefixed VAT numbers through the EU VIES system at checkout. Northern Ireland has a special status in EU customs and VAT law for certain goods and services; for official background, see the European Commission page on territorial status of goods and services. This section explains how Type Forward applies VAT at checkout only and is not tax advice.
3. Website terms vs font licence (EULA)
These Terms of Use govern your interaction with our Website and the e-commerce platform. However, the font software you purchase is governed by our End User License Agreement (EULA). By completing a purchase and downloading our font software, you agree to be bound by the EULA for your selected licence tier.
4. Digital Delivery & Force Majeure
Because we sell digital goods, your font files are assembled and delivered immediately to the Downloads area in My Account upon successful payment.
While we aim for high availability, Type Forward relies on third-party services — DigitalOcean Spaces for secure file storage, Stripe for payment processing, and our hosting and CDN providers. We are not legally liable for delayed digital delivery, site downtime, or temporary interruption of account downloads caused by external network outages, force majeure events, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
5. Refunds & Returns
For orders on Type Forward’s standard licence terms, we offer a voluntary 14-day return promise when fonts were only privately evaluated and the other Refund Policy criteria are met (including free standard-licence orders, with zero money returned). Custom or negotiated agreements follow their own accepted terms. Full detail: Refund Policy. Mandatory defect and nonconformity rights remain separate.
If you are a consumer and the EU statutory right of withdrawal applies, requesting immediate access to the digital font files may cause that right to end when delivery begins, where the legal conditions for that exception are met. This is separate from the Type Forward Return Promise.
6. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
If you have a billing problem, please contact us at hello@typeforward.com first so we can help. If a chargeback or payment dispute is opened, we may provide our delivery and order records to the payment provider. If the payment is reversed, access to the affected order and its font licences may be suspended or ended. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights you have to dispute a payment with your bank or card provider.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this site—including type specimens, images, text, graphics, and layouts—is owned by Type Forward or our licensors. Unless we explicitly grant permission, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, mirror, or redistribute our website content.
8. No-Scraping or Automated Use
You may not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or similar tools to access, extract, index, or download our content at scale. You may not circumvent rate limits or security controls, nor may you use our content, images, or font specimens to build or train artificial intelligence datasets or models without our express written permission. Standard search engine indexing that respects robots.txt is allowed.
9. External Links
Our site contains links to third-party websites (for example, shops like Fontspring/MyFonts). We are not responsible for their content, functionality, or privacy practices.
10. Disclaimers and Website Liability
The Website is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties regarding the Website’s operation and limit our liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Website or a specific order shall not exceed the amount you paid to Type Forward for that order.
Note: Liability regarding the font software itself is governed separately by the End User License Agreement (EULA).
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. If a dispute arises, the competent courts of Sofia, Bulgaria, will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection or jurisdiction rules provide otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms of use when our services or the law change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date shown in the sidebar.
